Appeal following disturbance in Fleetwood

Lancashire Police are appealing for information following a disturbance which occurred in a residential area of Fleetwood.

Lancashire Police were called at around 2pm  (Sunday, February 12th) to Lindel Road to reports a group of four or five men had been seen damaging a car with a hammer.

It was also reported that during the incident a woman had been punched and a man chased down the street and hit with a hammer. Thankfully neither suffered serious injuries.

The Police attended but found the offenders had fled the area in a car. However a dark-coloured BMW, believed to be connected to the incident, was located a short time later in the Greenfield Road area.

Police are now appealing for information about the incident and are asking anybody who saw it, or has information about who was involved, to get in touch.

DI Steve Montgomery, of Fleetwood Police, said: “This incident broke out in the middle of the street in broad daylight and has understandably caused concern among residents.

“We will have increased patrols in the area over the coming days and anybody with concerns is welcome to speak to an officer.

“We are now working extremely hard to piece together who was involved and in what capacity, but we need information from the public. If you saw all or part of the incident, or know who was involved, please let us know straight away.”
