The team behind the popular Santa Comes to Bispham are spreading the Christmas cheer this year by taking their parade on tour.

It’ll be the third year for the group of business folk from Wyre and Fylde Elves Behavin’ Badly and Wyre andFylde Santa Tours are organising an impressive parade and fundraising raffle in the run up to Christmas, and based on the success of the last two years they are taking their event around the north of the Fylde coast so more families can enjoy the fun.

The events will be kicked off on Thursday 8th December when Santa Comes to Thornton, parading through Pheasants Wood before a tour of Knott End and Pressall, Hambleton, Poulton and Garstang. He’ll then return to Bispham for his grand finale on Wednesday 21stDecember. All parades will start at 6.30pm and each route will be published on its respective Facebook page.

As in previous years, the event will support Trinity Hospice and its dedicated children’s hospice, Brian House.

One of the organisers, Karen Frost, said: “Santa Comes to Bispham has proven to be a great event for bringing the community together and spreading some Christmas cheer. It was born from the pandemic when people couldn’t take their children to see Father Christmas, and it’s just got bigger!

“We’re so excited that this year we can spread our festive joy even further by visiting other areas of the Fylde coast, which we hope will also lead to even more money going to our very worthy hospice.”

Last year’s event raised an incredible £5,754, bringing the total raised from Santa Comes to Bispham to nearly£9,000.

On top of guaranteed Christmas cheer, the parade will feature a disco truck playing all-time Christmas hits, Harry the Christmas Lorry and the Rola-Cola Truck and of course, the man in red himself.

Throughout the parades, Santa’s elves will be on hand with collections buckets, though the mischievous Elves Behavin’ badly and The Grinch have threatened to try to spoil the fun. You’d better watch out!

Trinity’s Community Fundraising Manager, Michelle Lonican, said: “Santa Comes to Bispham has become a huge event for the village, so it’s absolutely fantastic to hear that the team behind it are spread the festive cheer much further this year.

“They hope that by doing so, they can raise even more for Trinity and Brian House, helping us to provide outstanding hospice care to every single person who needs it across the Fylde coast. We are extremely grateful to have once again be chosen as their charity, and hope everyone taking part in a Santa Come To… parade has an excellent time.”

Prizes are still being accepted from local businesses and attractions for the Santa Comes To… raffle, and tickets are on sale through Facebook before the draw on 15th December at The Albion, Bispham, at 7pm.
