Jacqui Lewis
Jacqui trained at the Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts. At the age of 19 she joined The New Squadronaires big band and sang with many celebrities such as Bob Hope and Vera Lynn, Tony Christie, Jack Jones and The Beverly sisters. She joined The Mike James Sound and Singers for a season in Blackpool Tower Ballroom and toured the UK with them. Jacqui then moved to the ships and became one of the first ever European Japanese Seamen as cabaret artist on their flagship The Asuka. She also performed as cabaret on P&O and Cunard ships. Jacqui has performed in, directed and been musical director for numerous shows and pantomimes throughout the UK . She has been a backing vocalist for Gloria Gaynor among others and still performs both nationally and internationally.
She is principal of The So Talented Academy of Theatre Arts in Wayfarers Arcade here in Southport and is very proud of her pupils past and present. Many of whom you may have seen on TV or in shows in the West End and National Tours.
